XENIA — There will be some familiar faces in new places when Xenia schools begin this fall.

Joe Bachman, former dean of students at Xenia High School was promoted to assistant principal while former high school assistant principal Jeff Keadle was shifted to the same position at Warner Middle School.

Janice Cooper-Harrison, who was dean of students at Warner, will be a seventh-grade teacher at Warner as both dean of students positions were eliminated, according to district spokesperson Wendy Planicka.

“The changes were made to streamline the administrative positions at both schools and to maximize the effectiveness of each position,” she said via email.

Jamie Simpson and Josh Newport remain middle school assistant principals while Bachman joins current high school assistant Megan Winston. David Torrence was previously named high school principal to replace Dr. Hank Jackoby, who resigned earlier this year.

The high school will have a new look outside as well as the school board recently accepted a bid to patch and resurface the student and bus parking lots from A&B Asphalt and A Jurgensen Company for $344,817. Planicka said the hope is that it will be ready before school starts.
