Cedarville to honor firefighters, police

CEDARVILLE — Police and firemen from Cedarville will be honored during Community Awards Night at the Cedarville opera house.

Sponsored by the Cedarville Historical Society and part of A Night With the Mayor and his Wife, 61 fire and police officials will be recognized for their commitment and service to the community 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. Among those being honored are firefighters Mark Thordson (47 years); Tom Selden (40 years); Chief Scott Baldwin 39 years; police chief Chris Gillaugh (35 years) and officer Mark Homes (22 years).

Trophies will be given to the chiefs while plaques will be given to several firefighters and police officers.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at Beans & Cream; Hearthstone Inn and Suites; Cedarville Hardware; Stoney Creek; Main Street Station; and the opera house.

The opera house is at 70 N. Main St.
