XENIA — Preschool registration night for the 2020-2021 school year has been set for 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Xenia Preschool
“Children who attend a quality preschool program like the one here at Xenia Preschool are generally better prepared to enter Kindergarten than those who do not,” said Jennifer Statzer, principal at Xenia Preschool. “While it is crucial for parents to begin the learning at home, the advantage of our preschool is that children gain critical skills in a classroom setting that provide the foundation for a successful transition to our elementary schools.”
Registration Night is the start of the enrollment process for the coming school year at Xenia Preschool. New students do not need to be present for the registration process, as each registered student will participate in a follow-up assessment in April or May. Those assessments will be scheduled during the registration process.
To complete the enrollment process, parents/guardians should bring:
— Proof of income
— Birth certificate of student
— Proof of custody (if applicable)
— Proof of residency (copy of lease, if renting)
— Parent/guardian ID
Xenia Preschool is a Five-Star “Step Up to Quality” rated program with the Ohio Department of Education. It operates on a half-day basis, with morning and afternoon options available. The preschool is open to children ages three to five who reside in the district. New students for the coming school year must be three-years old by Sept. 30.
The preschool is funded in part by the Ohio Department of Education, and tuition is free for students with disabilities. Tuition for non-disabled students is on a sliding scale based on household income. The cost of monthly tuition can range from $35-$140. For children who qualify for the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program, 100 percent of the tuition may be waived.
