FAIRBORN — The closure of State Route 235 and Xenia Drive at the railroad crossing has been extended through Tuesday, Nov. 17, in order for the railway work to be completed.
Norfolk Southern continues to make intersection improvements at the crossing and vehicles will not be able to cross the tracks until Wednesday morning.
Detours will remain in place for drivers coming from Interstate 675; northbound traffic on SR 235 will be re-routed through Yellow Springs-Fairfield Road and Black Lane up to Broad Street, while southbound traffic on SR 235 will be re-routed through SR-444 and W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.
Once the railway work is finished, Xenia Drive will receive the final surface course of asphalt to complete the road with a smooth finish.
Any questions regarding the work or detour can be addressed by contacting the City of Fairborn Engineering Division at 937-754-3055.
