XENIA — A Xenia man was arrested Sunday afternoon after a brief standoff that resulted in SWAT activation.

According to Xenia Police Division Captain David Pazynski, police received a call about possible domestic violence happening outside a house in the 100 block of Fayette Street approximately 1:45 p.m. Upon police arrival, the alleged suspect and victim had gone back in the home and did not respond to multiple knocks on the door or phone calls.

“It concerned us greatly that nobody was coming to the door,” Pazynski said. “We pretty much decided … to activate the SWAT team.”

Before any SWAT interaction, the residents opened the door and spoke with police and the suspect was taken into custody without incident, Pazynski said.

Pazynski did not immediately have the name of the suspect, but Greene County Jail records show Deandre Terrell Baskin, 43, of the same address on Fayette was taken into custody Sunday on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence and aggravated assault, both misdemeanors. He is in jail on $50,000 bail.
