FAIRBORN — Due to a major water line break, the City of Fairborn Division of Water and Sewer is advising Fairborn water customers in varying areas to boil for at least one minute any water used for drinking, making ice, cooking or oral hygiene in accordance to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.

The impacted areas include:

– Faircreek Ridge;

– National Road;

– Colonel Glenn Highway;

– Presidential Drive;

– all housing areas off of Zink Road until further notice.

This is a precautionary measure only; there is no evidence at this time at the water system is contaminated. The possibility does, however, exist and cannot be ruled out until further investigation has occurred.

The Division of Water and Sewer is conducting such an investigation and collecting water quality samples (analysis will take a minimum of 24 hours) and hopes to have this problem corrected soon. An additional notice will be given when the water use advisory is lifted. For further information, contact Fairborn Division of Water and Sewer at 937–754-3097.
