CEDARVILLE — A pair of online master’s programs at Cedarville University have been named as two of the nation’s best, according to Affordable Colleges Online (ACO).

Cedarville’s online Master of Science in Nursing and its global health track for nursing majors both received the recognition from the national organization.

The global health track is ranked No. 14 nationally and the MSN program placed No. 31. Affordable Colleges Online noted Cedarville’s 13:1 student-teacher ratio for both programs. This was the second best of any school on the list.

Among the many benefits of a master’s degree in the nursing profession are greater career opportunities and salary growth. According to the ACO rankings, nurses with a master’s degree can see a 34 percent increase in salary that exceeds $90,000 annually. The rankings also noted that many government agencies and other organizations require a master’s in public health for employment.

Affordable Colleges Online is a resource that helps students and parents identify colleges, degree programs and scholarship opportunities that fit into their academic and financial wants and needs.

The rankings of best online master’s programs were compiled using an in-depth scoring system. ACO’s scoring metrics consist of online tuition rates, student-faculty ratio, percent of students receiving financial aid, academic and career counseling, acceptance rate, loan default rate, online bachelor’s degrees available and six-year graduation rate.
