XENIA — Richard D. Hall, age 84, formerly of Xenia, and currently of Springfield, MO, went to be with the Lord on Saturday October 27, 2018. He was born December 26, 1933 in Springfield, OH, the son of Hazel (Bales) and Samuel Truman Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Joann Estep; his brother: Harold Hall; his son John and daughter in law Regina Hall and his wife of nearly 65 years Mary Katherine Baise Hall in June 2017 . He is survived by his son and daughter in law: Richard and Tammy Hall with whom he made his home; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hall had worked at the Dayton Daily News and retired from the Rocky Mt. News in Denver Co. He and his wife had lived in Montana after leaving the Xenia area, before settling in Springfield, Missouri to be near their son in 2014. He had been a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Xenia; and current member of Berean Baptist Church in Sprngfiedl MO. He enjoyed playing Chess, teaching Sunday School and discussing politics. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday November 1, 2018 at the McColaugh Funeral Home Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor David McClellan officiating. Burial will be in the Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. Visitation will be from 10 AM Thursday until the service time at the funeral home.
