YELLOW SPRINGS — Art lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful fall experience should make plans to visit Yellow Springs the weekend of Oct. 14 for Yellow Springs Open Studios.

It starts on Friday night with a late evening at the downtown shops and galleries for art openings and special exhibits along with the regular Friday night entertainment and delicious dining experiences.

The exploration continues Saturday and Sunday when 24 studios are open featuring the work of 34 local and guest artists. Twelve media categories will be represented during the event such as glass, ceramics, painting, jewelry, sculpture, fiber and more. Many of the artists will offer their work for sale.

This is an opportunity to see the private work spaces of local artists while strolling the studios in Yellow Springs. Attendees can bike or drive to those scattered around the countryside. Fall color will be at its peak and the art will be equally spectacular. Yellow balloons will identify the open studios.

Information can be found on the event website at ysopenstudios.ysartscouncil.org and on Facebook at ysopenstudios. Plan the visit using the interactive mobile-compatible map with studio locations and information about each artist’s work. Printed copies of the Yellow Springs Open Studios Guide will be made available at the Yellow Springs Arts Council, Yellow Springs Station, and at various locations throughout the Village of Yellow Springs.

Remember Oct. 15 and 16 for 34 talented artists, 24 open studios and one event in Yellow Springs.
