Students get a surprise in cafeteria

CEDARVILLE — Students in Cedarville had quite a surprise when they walked into the district’s cafeteria Dec. 4.

Julie Robbins, a 14-year maintenance employee of Cedar Cliff Local School District, prepared a holiday cafeteria for students the night before, with the help of her sisters and mother.

They decorated the main congregational space with student-made 3D tree ornaments, sparkling wreaths and hanging stars, and red and green paper garlands. In the days before, Robbins, a 1981 Cedarville graduate, had sought the help of the elementary and middle school students in creating most of the decorations. She especially credited Chloe Gillaugh, an eighth grader, who organized her classmates into garland-making groups.

Said Cedarville freshman Claire Czerniak, “Just seeing the cafeteria decorations makes me so very happy. I love them.”
