Local libraries announce Febrary programs

GREENE COUNTY — The Greene County Community Libraries will hold a variety of programs for the month of March. Some programs require registration contact the local library to register. The following library programs are planned:

Bellbrook

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library is located at 57 W. Franklin St. To register for programs call 937-352-4004.

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library will host Lord of the Rings Club for ages 12-18 at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church at 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. Join the library for an evening of discussion and games, centering around the works of Tolkien.

Tuesday Night Crochet & Knit Group for adults, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. Bring a project and drop in for an hour of crochet or knitting.

Puppet Mania for grades 2-5, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. Ms. Joanne has a large collection of puppets. Let’s have fun with them and write stories we will act out.

All Day St. Patrick’s Day Crafts for ages 3-7, Friday, March 10. Stop by the library any time during the day and make a St. Patrick’s Day craft to take home and decorate your home.

Teen Tech Week: 3D Printing for ages 12-18, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 11. 3D printing demonstration and the chance to make a small design of your own.

Harry Potter Club for grades 3-6, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, March 13. Monthly club which meets to celebrate all things Harry Potter.

Winters-Bellbrook Community Library will host Raspberry Pi(e) for ages 12-18 at the Bellbrook Presbyterian Church 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14. Celebrate Pi day by baking mini raspberry pies. Registration required.

Lego Builders Club for ages 6-11, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. Have fun you can have with Lego bricks.

Cluein’ and Chewin’ Book Club for adults, 6-7 p.m. Monday, March 20. A new mystery book discussion group for adults. Registration required.

Cat Day for ages 12-18, 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30. Celebrate furry feline friends with cat-themed crafts and activities.

Cedarville

Cedarville Community Library is located at 20 S. Miller St. To register for programs call 937-352-4006.

Needlework Circle for adults, 6-7:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. Whatever craft you enjoy, bring it along to work on at the library. Beginners are always welcome.

Story Time for ages 0-5, 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 15, 22, 29.

Food for Thought for adults, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 11. If you enjoy cooking, trying new recipes, and sharing food with others, then join us for a potluck meal using recipes from a pre-selected library cookbook. Call email [email protected] for more information.

Teen Night for ages 12-18, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Play board games and hang out with friends.

Spring Craft for age 6-12, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wedneday, March 22. Make a windsock to hand outside.

Crockpot Soap Making for adults, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Learn how to make hot process soap. It is recommended you have made cold-process soap at least once before taking this class. Please bring a dishpan that will hold water and an old towel. Registration required.

Book Discussion Group for adults, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Monday, March 27. Contact the library for the title we will be discussing this month.

Create-A-Canvas for adults, 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28. Painting with local artist Karen King, A pre-sketched canvas and supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Jamestown

Jamestown Community Library is located at 86 Seaman Drive. To register for programs call 937-352-4005.

Tuesday Story and Playtime, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 21.

Drop-In Crafters for adults 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 14, 21, 28. Drop in the library and join other crafters are they work on various projects, from knitting to scrapbooking, and everything in between.

Zumba Fitness for adults, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, March 13. Join certified fitness instructor Nikki Hodges as she leads a one hour Zumba exercise class. Please bring water. Class is limited to the first 25 people.

Lucky Leprechaun Party, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15.

Jamestown Community Library Read Between the Wines Book Discussion adults at Caesar Creek Vineyards, 962 Long Road 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 15.

Wood Sign Painting for adults, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Join us for a fun painting class. Participants will be painting a wood sign with a spring theme. All materials provided. Registration required.

Card Making and Paper Crafts for adults, 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 21. Card making and paper crafts with a monthly theme. Instruction and supplies furnished. Registration begins three weeks prior to the class. Registration required.

Snap Circuits, 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23. Use our Snap Circuit sets. Science is fun.

DIY Jewelry for adults, 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Decorate washers to embellish necklaces, bracelets or key chains. All materials provided. Registration required.

Interval Training Exercise Class for adults, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, March 27. Join certified instructor Nikki Hodges as she leads a one hour exercise class. Please bring water, mat, weights (2-5 lbs.), and a towel. Class is limited to the first 25 people.

Yellow Springs

Tweens Read: The Pushcart War for grades 4-6, 3-4 p.m. Wedneday, March 8. The Pushcart War by Jean Merrill.

PAWS to Read, 3-4 p.m. Thursday, March 9. Join the library staff after school to read to, and visit with, our four-legged friends and their people.

Email Basics, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 23. In this class for beginners, learn about email basics including free email providers, creating an account, sorting your email, responding to and sending messages, links and attachments, and deleting messages. Registration required.

Knitting 101, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11. Learn the basics of knitting with Sarah Kitchen: how to cast on and bind off stitches and the basic knit and purl stitches. Registration required.

Art in the Library, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 14. Join staff fter school and be creative with Ms. Janet. Snacks provided.

Young Adult Writing Club, 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16. Enjoy writing poetry, Fan-Fiction, or just about life? Come and have a quiet place to write.

Basic Acrylic Painting, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 23, 30. Local artist, Christine Klinger, teaches this class for beginners. All materials will be provided. All levels are welcome. Registration required.

Chocolate Olympics, 4-5 p.m. Friday, March 17. Join Krista for the chocolate olympics.

Jewelry Making with Lilly Rose, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Learn to adapt elements of vintage jewelry design to create something your own. Registration required.

Fairy Gardens for ages 7 and up, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 21. Join staff after school and make a miniature garden fit for a sprite. Snacks provided.

Wright Brothers — Presented by the National Park Services, 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 25. Join us as the National Park Service presents an overview of the Wright brother’s lives.

Origami Yoda Club: Emperor Pickletime Rides the Bus for ages 7 and up, 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28. Have a snack and hear a chapter read from the last book in our series.
