XENIA — The city’s new dedicated bike lanes will be celebrated during a special event at Devil Wind Brewing.

The Trails Transform America gathering 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 will bring together elected officials and business owners as well as trail users and advocates from around the region. There will be a bike ride leaving from the Yellow Springs Brewery 4 p.m., giving riders an opportunity to enjoy the Little Miami Scenic Trail and experience the new bike lanes, which pass by Devil Wind Brewing’s front door.

Xenia’s famous 5-trail “hub” that connects rural, suburban and urban communities across the Miami Valley region will also be celebrated.

Craft beer and food from the Salty Dog food truck will be available, while organizations such as the City of Xenia, Greene County Parks & Trails, Friends of Xenia Station, Xenia Chamber of Commerce, Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce, Bike Miami Valley/Bike Yellow Springs and Rails-to-Trails Conservancy will have information about how trails create healthy, thriving communities.

The 50 Ohio to Erie Trail riders participating in the annual Moffitt Memorial Ride are expected to visit the brewery as well.

A brief ceremony highlighting how trails significantly enhance Xenia and communities all across Ohio takes place 6 p.m. Live music by Precision begins 7:30 p.m.
