XENIA — A car smashed into a home at the intersection of Cincinnati Avenue and Charles Street Oct. 2 causing major damage to the chimney.

Xenia police officials are not sure what exactly caused the car, which was apparently headed north on Cincinnati Avenue, to crash into the home shortly before 1 p.m., but Officer Tony Vitale said someone is likely to be cited.

The driver and passenger were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Fire Chief Ken Riggsby.

The house remains habitable after the county building inspector gave the OK. The chimney was pulled away from the home, but there was no major structural damage, according to Riggsby.
