XENIA — A man was arrested on an unrelated warrant after several county law enforcement agencies converged on a home in Xenia Tuesday night.

According to Xenia police Capt. Steve Lane, the Greene County ACE Task Force, Xenia Police Division, and the SWAT team served a drug-related search warrant on Rockwell Drive. In the process of looking for the individual, police initiated a traffic stop at the nearby Circle K store, arrested Fred L. Tipton III, and booked him into the Greene County Jail. He was being held on a charge of violation of bond conditions according to the Greene County Jail website.

During the stop, officials discovered what they thought may have been a mobile meth lab.

An investigator and the fire department were called out to make sure there was no danger to the public.

“Very quickly they were able to determine there was nothing that put the public in harm’s way,” Lane said.

Lane added that officials can’t say for sure if it was a meth lab, nor can they say what was found during the search.
