GREENE COUNTY — Harold Schmidt, known as “Hap” was born in 1922 in Ross County. During World War II, he was a member of the US Coast Guard. He returned to Greene County work for Super Value in Xenia as a grocery buyer and was a member of the Dayton Food Trade Association. A long-time resident of Fairborn, he was active in several organizations. He had a wonderful sense of humor and “never met a stranger.”
