XENIA — A Florida man was seriously injured Thursday as a result of a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 68 North.
According to information from the Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, James Pendleton, 77, of Inverness, Fla., was traveling south on the road when he slowed, appeared to pull to the right side of the road and then make a U-turn in front of a delivery truck traveling north.
The driver of the truck, Cody Compton, 22, of Columbus, was unable to stop and struck the vehicle in the passenger side. Pendleton was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with what were described as serious injuries, the highway patrol said.
Compton had minor injuries. Both were the only occupants of their vehicles. The crash remains under investigation but speed did not appear to be a factor.
