XENIA & BEAVERCREEK — Heidi Siens loves the family atmosphere at Greene Memorial Hospital and Soin Medical Center and experiences it each day as the new environmental services manager.

Three months into her new job, she feels at home, “I love Soin and Greene, everyone has been so friendly and helpful,” said Siens. “I walked into this new role and feel so welcomed into Kettering Health Network. It’s a real family atmosphere.”

Previously she worked at a nearby hospital in environmental services after being promoted into the department. She also has served on her local school board for 11 years. Siens received a BS in education from Miami University and is pursuing a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Ohio University.

“Our job is to maintain the cleanliness of the hospitals,” she said. “To make sure the environment is appropriate and comfortable for our patients and guests. We also manage the quietness and entire environment of the hospitals.”

The new manager is in charge of approximately 60 employees, “It’s not just wiping and swiping. It’s also about having a pleasing patient centric hospital.”

Siens has set two main goals in her new role, to increase employee engagement within the patient care team and work collaboratively with staff to continue to streamline processes.

“The most enjoyable part for me is the staff – our front line house keepers,” she added. “They come back with such wonderful stories about their patient experiences. I really enjoy the faith based aspect of this organization. We can help someone by just praying with them – it’s very uplifting and encouraging.”

The Franklin native enjoys camping with her husband in their vintage camper when she’s not working. They are 25-year avid Cincinnati Bengal fans. She also loves spending time with her two grown sons.
