Shawnee Elementary School students recently held their annual decked-out trek to Shawnee Park to raise funds through the school’s PTO. Teams of superheroes, scientists, characters from favorite books — and even some zoo animals — made their way out of their classrooms to get some fresh air and exercise as they publicly thanked the friends, family members, and local businesses who sponsored them for this year’s walk-a-thon.
