JAMESTOWN — The Greeneview Middle School Crochet Club is celebrating three years of crafting, camaraderie, and giving back to the community.

This dedicated group of students, under the guidance of advisors Debbie Lee and Ashley Bowling, has mastered the art of crochet while fostering a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

This year, the club members diligently honed their skills, creating an array of crocheted items like bookmarks, washcloths, hats, and even pom poms. Their hard work culminated in a successful school-wide sale, where the proceeds were used to make a heartwarming donation of $2,500 to the Jamestown Family Cancer Care (JFCC).

“We are incredibly proud of our crochet club members,” said Principal Wendy Callewaert. “Their dedication to learning this new skill and their commitment to giving back to those in need is truly inspiring.”

The impact of the club’s donation was evident on Jacquie Weller, a representative from JFCC, who expressed her gratitude to the students.

“Their generosity will make a real difference in the lives of families facing cancer,” she said.

The Greeneview Middle School Crochet Club is an example of how students can use their talents and creativity to make a positive impact on their community, according to the advisors. As the club finishes its third year, Lee and Bowling said one thing is certain: These young crocheters will continue to stitch together a legacy of hard work, cooperation, and compassion.
