XENIA — Greene County will be represented by six total singles players and doubles teams at the Division I and II District Boys Tennis Tournaments.

Michael Page of Beavercreek is one of two players in the D-I singles tournament. After getting third place at sectionals, he will play Jacob Eddingfield of Elder in his first district tournament match.

The other local player is Daniel Songer of Bellbrook. He was fourth at sectional after two walk-over forfeits on the second day of the competition and will get the winner from the Cincinnati sectional, Yusif Rustum of Milford.

Both Page and Songer have potential semifinal matches against state qualifiers from 2022.

D-I doubles has the sectional champions from Beavercreek as one of the top seeds. Noah Ehret and Deven Wells will take on a team from Mason represented by Eric Xu and Connor Buckingham.

In D-II singles, Cedarville’s Ben Moore is slated to face Aiden Yeager of Northwestern in his first match. Moore got fourth in the Centerville sectional to qualify.

Henry Smith-Heston of Yellow Springs will face Trevor Gregorsok of Cincinnati Country Day, the runner-up from Mason. Smith-Heston finished in third at the Troy sectional.

D-II doubles will have the team of Ethan and Jason Knemeyer from Yellow Springs, the sectional runner-up in Troy, facing Luke Schneider and Ben Miller from Summit Country Day. The Knemeyers are in district for the second straight season. Three state qualifying teams from a year ago are also in the tournament.

All players and teams need to win their first round and quarterfinal matches at districts to achieve a top-four tournament finish and qualify for the state competition.

The tournaments for both divisions will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason with first round and quarterfinal matches taking place. Semifinal, finals and third place matches will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Make-up dates due to weather are scheduled for Friday and Sunday.
